INDIANA, PA, January 21, 2009—Gorell Windows & Doors has introduced an innovative new triple-glass system, Solar Master III™, that enables Gorell windows and doors to be even more energy-efficient—thus lowering home energy consumption and costs and making homes more comfortable. Gorell products with Solar Master III achieve extremely low U-values and other impressive performance ratings. This glass system is unique in that it incorporates a blend of two inert, efficiency-enhancing gases—argon and the industry’s most energy-efficient gas, krypton—to provide exceptional thermal performance. In addition to helping homeowners manage heating and cooling costs, Solar Master III offers superb UV protection.

Solar Master III consists of three panes of glass, two advanced SolarControl Plus® Low-E coatings, a unique 50/50 blend of krypton and argon gas between the panes of glass and the PPG Intercept® spacer system. The two Low-E coatings allow Solar Master to filter out more than 95 percent of the spectrum of UV light that fades draperies, carpeting and other home furnishings. This glass has a remarkably high Fade Protection Factor (FPF) of 16. FPF is a rating achieved through independent laboratory testing to measure fade protection.

Solar Master III is engineered to retain interior heat in cold weather and reflect exterior heat in warm weather. The number of new dealers and distributors that have signed on with Gorell in 2008 is 29.3 percent higher than the number of companies that joined Gorell in 2007. The amount of new window business resulting from this increase in 2008 is 47.4 percent more than new business produced in 2007.
